Restoration Process:

Phase 1 – Assessment and Stabilization

  • Addressed hollow sounds beneath the travertine slabs to ensure a stable surface.
  • Reattached any detached tiles securely to their supports.

Phase 2 – Repair and Homogenization

  • Restored the natural veins of the travertine slabs.
  • Removed unsightly patches to achieve a uniform appearance.
  • Applied a custom resin-based putty to fill open grooves and enhance surface homogeneity.

Phase 3 – Surface Treatment

  • Spread fluid resin evenly across the entire surface.
  • Pumiced the travertine tiles and applied resin again to achieve consistent results.
  • Filled small holes and imperfections with grout for a smooth finish.

Phase 4 – Final Polishing

  • Conducted meticulous pumicing, smoothing, and polishing to achieve a flawless, high-gloss finish.

The project successfully restored the travertine flooring to its original elegance, providing both aesthetic beauty and long-lasting durability.
